各位親愛的家長及同學：

Dear parents and students,

2021年最後的一個月了，這個月的活動可真多呢！在十一月中旬至十二月中旬起，校長總共觀課共74次，合共37小時，還要記錄老師上課的表現，再與老師個別討論。雖然花了很多時間觀課，但這是十分值得的，因為這不單可以提升老師的教學技巧，更可以令同學的學習得到保障。除了觀課外，教師專業發展也重要。今年十二月一日是屯門區教師發展日，由於疫情，故沒有舉行實體的工作坊，活動以網上進行。下午，我們馬不停蹄，老師們浩浩蕩蕩前往位於沙田屬校黃耀南小學進行聯校教師發展日。老師們花了一天時間學習，同學們，你們也要努力！

It is the last month in 2021 and there are lots of activities! In the mid November to the mid December, I observed 74 lessons which is 37 hours. I need to write down of teachers’ performance and to talk to them individual. Although lots of time spent on the lesson observation, it is worth to do so. I can ensure and enhance the pedagogy of teachers. I assure our students that their learning is protected. It is essential for the professional development of teachers. On 1st December 2021 is the Teacher Professional Development Day of Tuen Mun District. Owing to the pandemic, it has been held in online mode for three years. In the afternoon, all the teachers need to go to our affiliated school called LKWFS Wong Yiu Nam Primary School which is in Sha Tin. LTY teachers spend a whole day to learn, therefore being a student, you should work hard too.

十二月四日為家長日，家長主要到校領取成績表及了解學生在學校的學習情況。當天更為同學及家長舉辦了書展，方便他們購買課外書籍，提升閱讀興趣。另一邊廂，我們的同學及老師代表出席了由民政事務署舉辦「奧運健兒展風采」的活動，由特區政府邀請在今屆奧運得獎的中國運動員來港獻技，能一睹運動員風采，真是機會難得。翻查記錄，原來2015年5月俄羅斯的體操隊也曾到過LTY進行表演呢，可惜我仍未來到LTY任職，未能一睹運動員風采！

Parent Day is held on 4th December 2021. Beside getting the school report from the parents, to know more about the student’s learning condition is important. A book fair is held for parents to buy books for students to read. It can enhance students’ interest on reading. At the same time, our student and teacher go to Queen Elizabeth Stadium to watch the performance from the athletes China Team who have won the gold medals in Olympic Game. It is such a previous moment for us. In fact, some athletes from Russia performed in LTY. Let us have a look how amazing the athletes performed!

十二月十二日，我們的校董關秩安先生舉行八十大壽的宴會，我有幸參與其中。關校董在社會地位顯赫，是一位有名的建築師，在不同地方設計及興建建築物。希望同學們可以以關校董為榜樣，用功讀書，日後多為社會貢獻。

A birthday banquet is held for our school manager Mr. Daniel Kwan. He is eighty years old. It is my honour to participate this banquet. Mr. Kwan is eminent architect who has designed and built lots of famous buildings around Hong Kong and the world. Mr. Kwan sets a very good example we can learn how to try harder and contribute to the society.

十二月十七日是我們的英文活動日，今年的主題是Joyful merry and blessed LTY。希望大家有一個喜悅歡樂的聖誕。當天英文老師為大家準備了不少有意義的英文活動：首先大家在課室學習如何寫聖誕咭，一年級學生更可以出外到郵箱寄信。之後，同學到禮堂欣賞電影；而老師在操場為大家準備了英文攤位，謝謝家長義工的協助。地下課室還有外籍老師教大家做手工及跳舞。學校被粉飾一番後，大家也忙著「打咭」留念。最後，Ms. Ruth化身為司儀，帶領大家唱出不同的英文聖誕歌曲，氣氛十分熱鬧。聖誕老人也與大家唱歌，再加上有泡泡效果猶如下雪，令氣氛推至高峰。英文活動日相片

Our English Learning Day is called “Joyful Merry and Blessed LTY” which is held on 17th December 2021. We hope everyone has a happy and joyful Christmas. Lots of meaningful English games are prepared by English teachers. First of all, students learn how to write a Christmas Card. P.1 students have a chance to post the Christmas Card by themselves because teachers bring them to a mailbox nearby outside the school. Students are arranged to watch 2 short movies in the school hall. Games Booths are set in the covered playground. Thank you so much for the parents who are willing to be the volunteers to help our students to learn. Our NET teachers teach students how to dance and make some arts and crafts. The school is decorated beautiful and lots of people keep on taking pictures. Lastly, Ms. Ruth becomes our MC to lead all of us to sing different Christmas carols and the atmosphere is boisterous. Santa Claus also comes and sings along with students. While we are singing the song ‘Snowflake’, something suddenly falls from the sky. It is not snowflake but it is soap bubble which looks like snowing. It makes everyone so excited. Photos of “Joyful Merry and Blessed LTY”

今個聖誕對於LTY，真的大不同！今年的觀課，我要求觀中、英文科的作文課。其中一班的課堂，令我十分深刻，該課的作文題目是《記聖誕自助餐》，同學需要根據圖畫寫作，老師向同學提問有否用過自助餐？同學表示從未去過。老師再問，有否看過聖誕燈飾？部分同學表示在電視見過。看到這一幕，我就想豐富一下他們的生活經歷！吃自助餐方面，現在仍然未太適合帶大家去享用自助餐，所以由燈飾出發。在閒餘時間與同學傾談間，得知同學們希望學校能裝飾得更漂亮，建議把學校的樹，全部變成聖誕樹，但實際操作有點困難。在與視藝科科主任討論就得出了用聖誕樹裝飾外牆的概念。我們運用了一些已有的物料去創作，再請同學協助裝飾，最後請工友幫忙掛上。意想不到的是，小小的一棵聖誕樹竟能引起網民的迴響，還有幾所網上傳媒來訪問。藉此，衷心多謝同學、老師及工友的努力，為我們做出一棵令大家也開心的聖誕樹。如今，聖誕樹的燈飾已亮起，燈飾加入了太陽能及編程的功能，能按時開關。我們亦在FACEBOOK舉行了「聖誕齊打卡 · 燃起LTY Spark」打卡活動，邀請家長及學生親子拍照，希望透過活動令老師、家長及同學對學校的歸屬感有所提升。我們衷心祝願大家有一個開心快樂的聖誕及新年快樂！最重要還是身體健康！

In this Christmas, it is a bit different. When I do the lesson observation, one of the lessons made me cherished a lot. It is a writing lesson and the topic is about buffet in Christmas. Students need to finish the writing according to the pictures. In the beginning, the teacher asks students questions. The questions are about whether they have been to hotel for the buffet or go to Tsim Sha Tsui to watch the Christmas lights. All the students do not put up their hands. It means they have not had buffet before. Some of you have watched the Christmas lights. Now, it is not suitable to eat at school. Therefore, we focus on decoration. Some students suggest putting more lights on the trees. But I reject as it makes the trees feel uncomfortable. Then I discuss with the Visual Art Panel Head and we have the idea of making a big Christmas tree outside the school. Unpredictably, someone post it on the internet and make a lot of people discuss. Fortunately, lots of positive comments are given. On the other day, a reporter comes to school to do an interview to me. In the afternoon, another reporter calls me for another interview. The third reporter calls me the next day. I really want to take this chance to thank all the teachers, students and janitors to make this come true. According to this incident, our school also incorporate other subjects like computer literacy teachers help write a program to make a solar energy to make this gadget more eco-friendly. We also have a competition to take picture under the Christmas Tree. All these activities can make teachers, parents and student have more sense of belonging toward school. I wish all of you have a joyful Christmas with happiness. More importantly, good health is essential to all of us. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! See you in 2022!
